Book Review: The Pinhoe Egg by Diana Wynn Jones

#46 “The Pinhoe Egg” by Diana Wynne Jones

The Pinhoe Egg by DWJ

Genre: Fantasy/Children’s

Page Numbers: 528 pages

Dates Read: 10/25/13-10/29/13

Plot in three lines or less: Marianne Pinhoe’s family tries to keep their magic a secret. They don’t want “The Big Man” (aka, Chrestomanci) interfering. The only problem is that Gran has gone a bit mad, and is sending awful rotten magic to the Farleigh family, and things are starting to get nasty. Meanwhile, up at the Castle, Cat acquires an egg that has strong “Don’t Notice” spells all over it. It is only a matter of time before Chrestomanci has to step in and straighten everything out.

New read or re-read? Another new read for me.

Would you read it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would read it again, and I would recommend it to others. I’ve placed it on my wish list, and as soon as I am able, hope to add it to my collection.

Was it easy to read? Yes, it was very easy to read.

Is there anything about it that you did not like? No. As usual, Diana Wynne Jones has put out a good showing.

Is there anything else you would like to add? Yet another one of the library books I picked up to read at the recommendation of one of my best friends.
