Book Review: Witch Week by Diana Wynne Jones

#41 – “Witch Week” by Diana Wynne Jones

Witch Week by DWJ

Genre: Fantasy/Children’s

Page Numbers: 296 pages

Dates Read: 9/16/13-9/18/13

Plot in three lines or less: Another of the Chrestomanci books, this one is set in a world where witchcraft is punished by burning at the stake. No one wants that to happen, so when strange things start happening at school, everyone is prepared to look the other way and ignore it. But who is causing all the magical mishaps that keep popping up all over the place?

New read or re-read? Another new read for me.

Would you read it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would read it again, and I would recommend it to others. I’ve placed it on my wish list, and as soon as I am able, hope to add it to my collection.

Was it easy to read? Yes, it was very easy to read.

Can you relate to anything within the story? I particularly enjoyed how everyone was encouraged to think for themselves. You can’t always take what’s handed you as gospel truth. If you don’t find things out for yourselves, you will always remain in the dark.

Is there anything about it that you did not like? No. Once again, Diana Wynne Jones has put out a good showing. Bravo!

Is there anything else you would like to add? Yet another one of the library books I picked up to read at the recommendation of one of my best friends.
