2013 Books So Far

Rather then do reviews for all of them, I will only do reviews of what I’ve read going forward. I still wanted to record what I’ve read thus far. I’ve read more books this year than I realized.

1. “The Time Keeper” by Mitch Albom (12/29/12-1/2/13)
2. “The Philippian Fragment” by Calvin Miller (1/2/13-1/3/13)
3. “Side Jobs” by Jim Butcher (1/3/13-1/11/13)
4. “Nightside the Long Sun” by Gene Wolfe (1/11/13-1/22/13)
5. “Lake of the Long Sun” by Gene Wolfe (1/22/13-2/7/13)
6. “Calde of the Long Sun” by Gene Wolfe (2/8/13-2/22/13)
7. “Exodus from the Long Sun” by Gene Wolfe (2/23/13-3/16/13)

(For more on Gene Wolfe, click here. He quickly has become one of my favorite authors of the year.)

8. “A Walking Tour of the Shambles” by Neil Gaiman + Gene Wolfe (3/16/13)
9. Pillage by Obert Skye (3/17/13-3/18/13)
10. “The Imitation of Christ” by Thomas a Kempis (3/18/13-3/23/13)
11. “The Hero of Ages” by Brandon Sanderson (3/24/13-4/24/13)

(Brandon Sanderson is also one of my favorite authors. Visit his website here.)

12. “The Dark Hills Divide – The Land of Elyon Book 1” by Patrick Carman (4/24/13-4/28/13)
13. “Gregor the Overlander” by Suzanne Collins (4/28/13-5/3/13)

(Yes, that Suzanne Collins.)

14. “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card (5/3/13-5/5/13)

(OSC is another favorite author; here is his website. I frequent these websites quite frequently, if you hadn’t guessed. I wanted to re-read this well before the movie came out, so I would remember the story, but not have it so fresh in my head that I could not appreciate the movie for what it will be.)

15. “Alcatraz versus the Evil Librarians” by Brandon Sanderson (5/7/13-5/9/13)
16. “Alcatraz versus the Scrivener’s Bones” by Brandon Sanderson (5/9/13-5/12/13)
17. “Alcatraz versus The Knights of Crystallian” by Brandon Sanderson (5/20/13-5/24/13)

(I’ve mentioned that Sanderson is one of my favorite authors; did I mention I got to meet him right around this time? No? Well, I guess I’ll have to write that story up at some point, now won’t I?)

18. “Alcatraz versus The Shattered Lense” by Brandon Sanderson (6/10/13-6/15/13)

(There was such a long break in between reading these because real life has a tendency to happen. Mine involved an overturned vehicle, leaving the library book at the scene of an accident, and a general feeling of just not feeling well.)

19. “Who Could That Be at This Hour?” by Lemony Snicket (6/15/13-6/17/13)

(I must have a lot of favorite authors; website here. Warning: You don’t want to click on that link.)

20. “The Rithmatist” by Brandon Sanderson (6/18/13-6/20/13)
21. “Mr. Darcy’s Diary” by Amanda Grange (6/21/13-6/23/13)
22. “Odd Thomas” by Dean Koontz (6/24/13-7/3/13)
23. “Catching Fireflies” by Patsy Clairmont (7/4/13-7/8/13)
24. “Dancing Bones” by Patsy Clairmont (7/9/13-7/11/13)

  1. I’ve started keeping track of what books I’m reading, too. But only since June, since I’m trying a new scrapbook method and starting with the wedding. One of my little monthly cards that I put in for June has what books I read and what movies/shows I watched that month, and I have yet to make July’s, but I have the books saved on my phone. You’ve still got me beat by about a bajilion books, though (it’s taking me this entire month so far to read one OSC book!)
