I was driving on a two-lane stretch of I-95 on my way to work. I was in the left lane, driving next to an 18-wheeler. He put his left blinker on and came into my lane at the same time. My choices were to either stay and get smashed into the concrete wall, or brake and pray. I chose to brake and pray.
It was a rainy morning, and braking quickly caused me to swerve into the concrete wall anyway. My car flipped onto the hood, and I assume from there slid until things stopped moving.
And I walked away.
With a small mark on my neck from my seatbelt, a bruise and scratch on my right knee from crawling across the glass, a TINY headache from the initial impact on the concrete wall, and shoulder, neck and back pain, which is almost gone.
I have a lot to be thankful for.
